The Importance of Men and Women

Hey yall! yet another week has flown by, and for my class this week we were talking about the differences between men and women, and let me tell you we had a blast!
There was a discussion on the difference in nature between men and women and what they are like personality wise. I thought the discussion to be pretty accurate as it claimed women are more focused on relationships between objects or people in their lives, they are more emotionally driven in their responses to others and the environment around them, they also make an association between memory and emotion which is why they can remember things better than a man can. They are also better multi-taskers and nurturing is in their nature. Of course during class we all poked fun at these facts saying things like "that's why you should never get in a fight with a girl because she will remember things you did 4 years ago and bring it up in the argument again." or "Emotional is an understatement" and things like that, and then one of my all time favorite videos ever was shown in class, it is all about how men's brains work differently than women's brains, and boy did we have a good laugh!

But what I would like to finish off my blog with tonight- is this: we cannot have one with out the other. Our world is a world of balance, a balance between love/lust, justice/mercy, right/wrong, and men/women. Men are there to protect and provide and lead their families to success and happiness and security, while women are there to support, nurture, and love. And sometimes in life there are situations where there is one without the other, and other time, some of those properties of men and women are distributed a little more evenly between the two- but one cannot simply survive without the other. it is impossible. How do I know? well from personal experience! I will give you an example. SO i go to make my bed right? And there are some clothes on the floor right next to my bed, so i pick them up and throw them in my hamper, and see that the hamper is full, so I go to wash my clothes, I pull out the soap container and find it is close to empty so I go look under the kitchen sink for more when I see there are dirty dishes in the sink, so I start to do the dishes. Next thing you know I am stepping on a piece of food and look for the broom in the closet, I pass by and see the living room is a mess and go to pick it up, and then finally I get hungry and make some food, then watch a movie and god to bed..... which isnt made because I never got back to it. I am sure I am not the only one like this, but you know who helps us out with that? Men. Becuase they have more of a one track mind. They can stay focused on the bed until it is done and remind me to make it when I start to get side tracked by other things that need to get done. And with out us, men would be so focused on the bed that they would forget the rest of the house needs to be done too!
Now that was a very simplified example, but do we get the point? We cant have one without the other, so we should be CELEBRATING the differences between us, not blaming one another for them. I know I definitely appreciate the men in my life who help me stay on track and focused and encourage me and protect me- even when they get on my nerves. And I think if we can all try to look to find that harmony between us, we will live in a much nicer world. I think if we look as hard for that harmony as we do trying to find summer in our lives, we will be able to find it.
