Another Week Another Lesson

Hey everybody, so this week, we are working on the third paragraph of the Proclamation to the family. This paragraph states "In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize his or her divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally"

So in other words, we are going to be talking about the beliefs of the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints, on what happened before we came here to this earth.

The first question to answer is: Why would Satan be so concerned with eliminating the knowledge about pre-mortality?

I think this is important to him that we don't understand this because if we understand our divinity- and the choices we made to come down here to this earth- it would make it a little easier to resist temptation- because knowing where you come from, helps you to know where you are going.

The other question to answer for this week is: Why do you think that the great principle of happiness consists in having a body? I think this is important to the plan because with having a body, we will know the bad so we can appreciate the good. Having a body helps us to have kids and know what true unfiltered love feels like. Having a body also gives us experiences that God had, which helps us to be able to be like him one day.

I love how simple some of this doctrine is, and i am so grateful that I believe in a God who wants me to have happiness and love in my life. And I am also grateful to understand why I am here and where I need to go. It helps me to try and find summer on my darkest days.
