How does "parents loving each other" help them love and care for their children?

SO, we are now moving on to the next paragraph in the proclamation, which states: HUSBAND AND WIFE have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. "Children are an heritage of the Lord" (Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations

I think it is the most important thing to remember, that, for children, words mean nothing, and actions mean everything. Children are SO susceptible to actions and feelings, and whatever they are surrounded with when they are young, is how they are going to turn out when they become adults. Because of that, having love that is strong and present between the parents will help the children to look for that and aspire for that as they get older. Also, with love at home it is much easier to have prolonged patience and happiness in the home which is a great environment for children to flourish in.

  1. According to the Proclamation, parents have a sacred duty to do five things:

  • rear their children in love and righteousness;

  • provide for their physical and spiritual needs;

  • teach them to love and serve one another;

  • teach them to observe the commandments of God;

  • teach them to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live

Pick two of the five and clearly explain how you will do that in your marriage and family.

Of the list, first and foremost, I feel that I would chose to provide for their physical and spiritual needs. If a child has a safe place to express their emotions and thoughts, and can have all of their physical needs met, then they are going to flourish in life. The second thing I would pick is to teach them to love and serve one another. I find that true happiness comes from serving others to the best of your ability, and i truly believe that love can change the world. SO teaching my children to self-love and to respect and love others around them, is going to make them stand out from the crowd, and help others realize their self worth.

  1. Please notice that parents are not going to be held accountable for how their children turned out,but on whether or not the parents "discharged" those duties. Why is that an important principle to understand?

I think this is important to understand, because, no matter how badly we wish we could, we are not able to control our futures, and we also cannot control other people. And why, if our God is a just and true God, why would He judge us for something that is out of our control. We may not be able to choose how our kids turn out, but we CAN control how we act and what we do to help our kids be the best they can be.
